The fabrication facilities at Midwest Machining and Fabrication produce both short and long run weldments. Midwest can produce high quality, low carbon steel weldments up to 200,000 pounds.
With skilled fabricators averaging 25 years of welding experience, MM&F provides high quality weldments backed by experience.
Capabilities at MM&F include both plasma arc and oxy-fuel N/C plate burning machines. These machines are interfaced to the company CAD/CAM system where the burning templates are created. Additional capabilities include: flame beveling, heat treating, and shot blast.
Most welding is done by positioning the parts on mechanical positioners ranging in size from 4.5 tons to 350 tons. Positioning the weldments in this way allows for the most efficient welding deposition rates. Gas metal arc (metal core) welding processes are employed throughout the fabrication unit. The process was chosen for its deposition rate, penetration benefits, and low slag generating characteristics.
